Onboarding

One of Tanssi's core propositions for builders is that it provides Ethereum-grade economic security to every Tanssi-powered network, regardless of its TVL, userbase, or the specifics of the use case. Tanssi's design offers developers a shared security model, alleviating them from having to source enough economic security or negotiate with operators to run nodes opting in for their networks.

The Tanssi protocol achieves this by integrating with external security providers, such as Symbiotic. In this model, different vaults associated with Tanssi provide economic security, and reliable operators provide validation services to the Tanssi network.

Follow these steps to set up your node and prepare your account for active participation in the Tanssi protocol.

Run an operator node

Set up the actual node using Systemd or Docker.

Register in Symbiotic

Add your account to the Symbiotic operators registry. This registry is the central point for identifying operators within the Symbiotic ecosystem.

Opt in to Tanssi Network

Add your account to the Tanssi network operators registry. This registry is the central point for identifying operators participating in the Tanssi protocol.

Opt in to a Tanssi-enabled vault

Add your account to a Tanssi-enabled vault. Operators must opt in (and be admitted) to a Tanssi-enabled vault that manages and delegates staked assets to operators.

Fill out the application form

Fill out the form to apply as an operator. Since this step isn’t fully automated, it may take up to a week for your application to be processed.

Set up your account

Map your account to your node to start validating in the Tanssi protocol.

Set up an on-chain identity

Set up an identity to improve the visibility and recognizability of your operator's Substrate account.

Once you've fully onboarded, check out the operational tasks related to the maintenance of your node.
